How to Prepare a Commercial Location for Freight Delivery

Dock access, forklift capacity, appointments, and visible-damage inspection can affect a heavy parts delivery.

Confirm unloading equipment

Engines and transmissions are heavy palletized freight. Confirm dock, forklift, pallet-jack, or liftgate requirements before scheduling delivery.

Inspect before signing

Check the pallet, straps, wrap, case, and visible accessories. Note damage on the delivery receipt and take photos while the freight is still positioned as delivered.

Keep packaging and labels

Do not discard packaging, labels, or freight documents until the unit and order have been reviewed.

Compatibility reminder

Identification guidance improves a request but does not guarantee fitment. A specific used unit must be reviewed against the truck and installed component.
